Hello there, I’m Michelle, co-owner of Retreat, located in the bustling lower Haight neighborhood of San Francisco. I identify as a queer femme, using she/her pronouns. As a personal indulger in all things self care and a product enthusiast, I practice what I preach and am here to provide you with your personal care needs.  I know how important it is to give to yourself and I pride myself in creating a safe space for you to receive.

I’ve been an esthetician for over a decade, my third, and absolute favorite career. (fashion & fine art prior) I specialize in skin care, waxing and lash services.  I have never stopped my quest for continued education.  I feel it is my responsibility to know all of the latest, greatest ways to care for you that align with my esthetic style. My favorite thing to work on is acne, which is the area in which I excel , because I love the challenge. 

Putting you on the path to healthy skin and seeing your joy and confidence grow as we work together is my greatest reward.  I will always allow you the space to decide how to incorporate my knowledge into your life. I am here to support, not judge. As a queer business owner I pride myself on inclusion for everyone, every body, and every gender to feel celebrated, seen, pampered and cared for while in my space. I offer a full array of gender affirming waxing for all.

What I am told is unique and special about time in my treatment room is my ability to develop a deep connection with you.  I have the memory of an elephant and invest in each and every person and their story, not just your skin or body. I’ll remember almost every single thing you’ve shared with me about your life through the years of our working relationship. I am present in every moment with you. Sometimes we’ll will laugh and sometimes we'll cry (if you’re crying in my room, I’m crying along with you). I am here to lift you up, celebrate and empower you and your body from the outside in. 

When I’m not in the studio you can find me out and about with friends in my beloved Queer community, eating at the newest restaurants, indulging in my own various frequent forms of self care, seeing live music or experiencing all things art.  In my home life I’m usually curled up with my incredible wife Jess and our fur babies, Sabbath and Scout, cooking, or “watching our stories”.  I’m a full-on dog mom and spend lots of time at my local dog park watching my puppy play, which brings me so much joy. If you’re lucky you might get to meet her in person and get a few kisses on one of the days she comes to work with me.
